Hi Stamping Friends,
Have you bought the Swallowtail stamp set yet #129213? I would put it on your wish list even if you have a butterfly phobia! Plus it’s Sale-a-bration so you get paper or ribbons for FREE! (Just a side note!)
I have done five different techniques with this set so far!!!
Today I did the stained glass technique. I got the idea from my friend Daleen Pinder. She makes beautiful cards and has a great blog.
You need :
-White Vellum Card Stock #101856 $7.95,
-VersaMark Ink #102283 $9.95
-Embossing Buddy #103083 $7.50
-Black Embossing Powder #109133 $5.95
-Brights Collection Stampin’ Write Markers #119702 $37.95 (Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Tangerine Tango)
-Getting Started Card Stock #120954 $8.50
-1/2″ Black Scallop Dots Ribbon #124145 $10.95
-Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impression Embossing Folder # 117355 $9.95
For the stained glass technique, run your embossing buddy over 3″ x 4″ Vellum Card Stock. Stamp the butterfly image with VersaMark ink. Pour Black Embossing Powder over the image and tap off the excess powder. Heat with a heat tool.
Color the back side of the butterfly ( the side that isn’t embossed) with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Markers.
Attach the vellum to 3″ x 4″ Whisper White Card Stock. Make sure the colored side is against the Whisper White card stock. Attach to 3-1/4″ 4-1/4″ Basic Black card stock.
Tie ribbon around the the butterfly image.
Attach to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ Daffodil Delight card stock that has been embossed with the Perfect Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
I hope you’ll try making this card! It’s fun!!!
Happy Stamping,
Karina
