Hi Everyone,
It’s a great day to stamp. It’s snowy and cold outside so I hope to get a few cards completed to share with you this week.
My friend Janet lent me this fun stamp set called Graveyard Gala. It’s only $27.95 and on page 20 of the Idea Book & Catalog. I thought this design would make a fun Halloween party invite. I tried to make it spooky and I think it looks better in person than in the picture.
I used Basic Gray card stock as the base along with Basic Black, and Cast-a-spell designer series paper. The Basic Black card stock looks almost like leather. To achieve this effect, spritz some Basic Black card stock with water and scrunch it up. Dry it with the Heat tool and attach it to the Basic Gray card stock base with Mono Multi glue. I made the grass the same way by cutting some Basic Black card stock with scissors to create a grass look. I attached the grass with two black brads.
The headstone was stamped with VersaMark ink on Basic Gray card stock and embossed with Stampin’ Black emboss powder and the Heat Tool. I rubbed my Embossing Buddy all over the card stock before stamping on it. This prevents the black embossing powder from sticking to other parts of the card stock. The embossing buddy is a must have tool and it’s only $8.25.
The gravestone was layered onto some Cast -a-spell designer series paper. I scrunched up the paper and rubbed the edges along my Basic Black stamp pad. It gave the paper some extra dimension. The crow was stamped with Basic Black ink on Basic Gary paper.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Karina
