Poinsettia Card

Hi Everyone,

We’re making this card at my class on Monday. Isn’t it pretty? I was inspired by a card that my friend Roxane made. I get to scrap book at her house once a month and she is such a great teacher. Thanks for the idea Roxane!

This card uses the Berry Christmas stamp set from the Holiday mini catalog. I stamped two poinsettias in Real Red ink on Whisper White card stock and cut them out. They were layered on two 5 petal flower shapes punched out with the 5 petal flower punch. A flower shape from the Trio Flower punch was layered on top. All the layers are held together with a gold brad.
I made the designer paper by brayering Old Olive ink on top of Bride Specialty paper. Wipe away the excess ink with a tissue. I love this paper because you can make your own designer paper in any of Stampin’Up’s 48 colors! This was layered on 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″ Old Olive card stock.
I stamped “Merry Christmas” from the Many Merry Messages stamp set in Versa Mark ink. Gold embossing powder was poured over top and the image was heated with a Heat Tool. Make sure you run an embossing buddy over the Whisper White card stock before stamping the greeting. This prevents any unwanted flecks of gold embossing powder to stick to the card.
Happy Stamping,
Karina
